One of the best Filipino food meals you can eat in Manila! ►Subscribe to my channel for more food videos: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe Aling Sosing s is often considered to be one of the best carinderias, or local Filipino food restaurants, in all of Manila. The crowd that shows up to eat lunch here everyday reinforces the fact that they are no doubt one of the spots you want to be in Manila, if you’re a food lovers. When I was eating in Manila, eating at Aling Sosing s was certainly among the best local Filipino food restaurants that I tried. Aling Sosing s is a very typical type of local street food restaurant, sitting on the corner of a street, near to Makati. Just like most carinderias, all the food is prepared ahead of time, and sits at the front of the restaurant. When you arrive to order, you just simply pick and choose the different dishes that you want to order, find a table, and they will bring you the dishes to your table. Additionally, some of the famous dishes to eat at Aling Sosing s are off the grill, and you’ll smell the wonderful aroma of the grilling meats the entire time you’re eating, and it’s fantastic. Ying and I arrived about 11 am on a weekday, and luckily we beat the main lunch traffic, but just barely. There were tables available when we arrived, but as soon as we sat down and order it filled up. Sof if you eat at Aling Sosing s Carinderia you might want to arrive before the main lunch rush. Additionally, some of the Filipino food dishes sell out fast, and they don’t cook them again for the day - once they are sold out, they are done for the day. Here are the main Filipino dishes I ordered: Pinakbet - A stew of mixed vegetables, oftentimes flavored with shrimp paste. This was the best versions of pinakbet I’ve ever had. Inihaw na tilapia - The grilled tilapia is quite well known at this restaurant. It was simple and delicious. Inihaw na liempo - The grilled pork belly is one of their signature dishes, and it’s every bit as good and smoky as it looks. Kaldereta - A Filipino food I love so much is kaldereta, a goat stew, mainly because I love goat so much. It was oily, but really good. Adobong pusit - I saw the squid the pot and decided to try it out. It was a little on the sweet side. Pork BBQ - Fresh off the grill, Ying and I ordered some of their pork bbq. The pork was tender and lathered in bbq, it was amazing. Total price - 640 PHP ($12.90) If you’re looking for a local Filipino restaurant in Manila that I think serves some of the best Filipino food, Aling Sosing s is a restaurant you’re going to want to check out. The food is awesome, the setting and positive atmosphere is refreshing, and the constant smoke from the grill will keep your nose happy and wanting more! BECOME A STUDENT OF OUR FRENCH ONLINE CULINARY SCHOOL TODAY! https://bit.ly/2KKgv1A The red wine sauce I am making today is not a bordelaise but the common Red wine sauce made in French bistro. In france we call it the "Sauce Marchand de vin" which translate in to the wine maker sauce or wine merchant sauce. it gets its name for its simple and quick preparation that can by be done by anyone and also for its hearty / down to earth style which could be compared to a good winemaker. what ever the story is, it is a delicious little sauce that I strongly recommend you try. Ingredients and recipe on my website: https://www.thefrenchcookingacademy.com/recipe/steak-red-wine-sauce/ tips for cooking the meat: depending on how thick your piece of meat is you will have to time accordingly. but as a rough guide start by browning each side of the meat for 2 minutes on high heat. after that reduce the heat to medium low and let the meat cook further. My thick piece of meat took 12 minutes in total for a medium rare. However if you cut is thinner it will not take that long so be carefull Best to use a frying pan like this one: http://amzn.to/2pyW8ue

Without a doubt, my most DIFFICULT challenge that I’ve ever done. I was challenged by Vegan YouTuber John Venus to do the "10,000 Calorie Fruit Challenge". So, I decided to embark upon the challenge with my own little "spin" to it! I figured there are going to be LOADS of misconceptions and of course assumptions about the particular challenge that you saw above, so a few key points. 1. Everything came from (predominately) whole food, fruits and vegetables. The "no juice rule" stayed in place, and there s a VAST difference when consuming straight juice (with little to zero satiation value) vs a DENSE and THICK shake/smoothie, which can serve as a meal replacement (in this case a few meals for some people). 2. "But Erik! Coconuts aren t FRUITS they re NUTS!" (Please see here: http://www.thebestofrawfood.com/is-coconut-a-fruit.html) 3. "But you used coconut sugar and coconut oil?" Yes! However, this made up for around ~4-5% of overall calorie consumption. 4. This was again, the HARDEST challenge I ve ever done. Even with my 13-14lb stomach capacity, the recovery from this challenge was the hardest. You ll be seeing more of that in the vlogs to come! Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan is one of the most famous attractions, and the beauty is mind-blowing! ►Subscribe for more videos: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe On Day 19 of our food and travel trip to Bhutan, we dedicated the entire day to trekking to Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan (Paro Taktsang in Bhutanese Dzongkha), which sits literally on the edge of a cliff. The hike takes about 3 - 4 hours or so, and since I wanted to beat the main crowds, my wife and I left from the hotel quite early to get a head start. It worked out quite well, because we were some of the only people on the trail that early in the morning. The fresh air was amazing. We wound our way along the trail, and soon we could get amazing views of Tiger’s Nest hidden in the clouds and on the side of the cliff. The trail, although steep, isn’t really dangerous in any parts, as long as you keep your eye on the trail and don’t try to get too close to the edge. At the top of Tiger’s Nest Monastery they don’t allow any photography, so you have to check in your bag. We walked around the monastery for a little while, ate some snacks, and then headed down. Despite Tiger’s Nest Monastery in Bhutan being one of the most famous attractions and icons of Bhutan, it really is spectacular. Round-Trip Taxi from Paro to Tiger’s Nest - 1,400 BTN ($20.99) It’s typically recommended that you visit Tiger’s Nest at the end of your trip to Bhutan so that you acclimatize better to the elevation. By far the best salmon we all ever had. I smoked this salmon and sous vide after, the seasoning was amazing and the flavor of this fish was incredible. The video does its justice, we all 3 were out of words for this perfectly cooked salmon. Making this fish sous vide was the perfect combination once it was smoked for 1 hour. This one you give to try it the way we did, we made a sandwich of cream cheese and bread and it took it to another level. It was an awesome experiment with this fish. You should have about 4 cups of cauliflower rice. Toss cauliflower into a nice big bowl and mix in eggs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and you have a dough like texture. Heat a medium to large skillet over a medium low heat and coat with some butter, coconut oil, or cooking spray. Be sure the pan is well greased or things may get messy. Scoop up 1/4 cup of the dough and free from a round patty in your hand, be sure to gently squeeze out any extra liquid. Place cauliflower patty in the pan and repeat you have two patty’s in the pan. Set your timer for 5 minutes and use a spatula to gently from the cauliflower patty’s into squares so they look like two slices of bread. After 5 minutes, gently flip them over. Do note, they are very fragile!! I recommend watching the video for all of my flipping tips! Set timer for another 3 minutes and then top one slice of the bread with 1/4th of the cheese. Place the other slice of bread on top and cook until the cheese has melted. Remove from pan and cool a bit before eating (this gives the sammie a chance to set up). Serve and enjoy! Frequently, watching a Meryl Streep movie means you re watching it for Meryl Streep, and not much else. But in the case of Julie & Julia, a host of stunning food porn accompanies Streep s charming turn as the late/great Julia Child. Does the recipe from Julia s first-ever television appearance stand the test of time?
