Cerro Chapelco is a ski and snowboarding resort in Patagonia, Argentina, approximately a 3-hour drive from Bariloche. The main town is San Martin de los Andes. The growth of extreme enduro, endurocross and hard enduro events leads to cross training enduro - trials skills changed to dirt riding on enduro bikes. Almost all the best extreme riders are previously trials champions. Wheel spin and slides look great but in most cases mean you losing control of the bike to some extent. Balance in your dirt bike riding also means you can spend more time standing on the footpegs in tough terrain instead of sitting - so you will have far more control. Trials riders can balance at a stand still for as long as they like - good for hard enduro riding! Cross training enduro has a strong focus on being able to balance on your dirt bike, even at a stand still - this is a handy skill when you have minimal run up to your next obstacle and learning how to ride a dirt bike. Australia seems to pay way more for the pumpkins, and we are close to breaking the magical $20,000 barrier. The Erzberg Rodeo version of the 300 two stroke is $19 445 in Australia. Which is the equivalent of more than $14000 US dollars, or 12,000 euros. Here are the 2021 prices for KTM s two stroke enduro range in Australian dollars. 300 EXC $16,670, 300 EXC 6 Day $18,335, 300 EXC Erzberg $19,445. Even the base model 300 is expensive compared to the other brands, at least here in Australia. And there s that usual big price difference compared to the 250, although there s only 200 grams of metal difference. We ll need to see if 2021 KTM reviews support the price rise. For that price difference you can buy a complete 300 conversion kit then have a spare brand new 250 top end. Weird. And here are the 2021 prices for KTM s four stroke enduro range in Australian dollars: 450 EXC-F $16,570, 450 EXC-F 6Day $18,540, 500 EXC-F $17,175, 500 EXC-F 6 Day $18,945. Of course an interesting question is why do Australians have to pay so much more compare to other countries? Are the importers bending us over and shafting us? Or does it really cost that much extra to freight bikes down under? KTM releases its EXC range for 2021 revealing minor updates to the suspension, engine, and graphics across four-stroke and two-stroke models. This year KTM has apparently worked on optimising the current EXC platform with modifications to suspension components and settings, as well as engine tweaks and new graphics. So many bikes to choose from, which are so much better than our riding ability will ever be. This TPI Husqvarna I rode for three weeks in Romania was a great bike and I m sure 2021 KTM reviews will back this up still. But is it better than the other brands. No way. At least not at my skill level. I have asked guys in Canada and the USA how much extra you have to pay for a KTM, apparently it s only a few hundred dollars extra for most models. So why the huge difference down under? In a recent vid we talked about how small passionate businesses often grow to become a huge multinational corporation, and that the focus on profit starts to take over completely. KTM has been buying up other brands, it is almost half owned by an Indian company, and forged links with a Chinese company to begin producing some of its road and adventure bikes in China. At some point, you have to wonder is this multinational corporation getting too big, and will it mean riders are paying more for less? Keen to hear your thoughts! KTM says all KTM EXC-F and XC-W TPI motorcycles in the 2021 ensemble, and the KTM 300 XC-W TPI, will benefit from an extra external preload adjuster in the WP fork allowing for easy setting changes for varying track or trail conditions. Also, the ultra-lightweight KTM 150 XC-W TPI has a new piston, bringing increased performance, consistency and durability. It is true? Time will tell. Tranmoto reported that KTM’s EXC and EXC-F 2021 range is a line-up of new two-stroke and four-stroke machines, the new off-road range one to keep in mind for your next steed in the shed. For 2021 the combination of three two-stroke models with the transfer port injection (TPI) system (The advantages are obvious: there is no need for re-jetting or concern for the climate, altitude, or conditions. Automatic and electronically applied lubrication is another major asset). And four, four-strokes ensure that adult riders and racers of all ages and abilities might find something suit their needs whether for competition or everyday riding. They believe the KTM 300 EXC TPI is the leading two-stroke with an big power-to-weight ratio and allegedgly good handling to inspire even the most demanding rider. 2021 marks the fourth year of KTM’s two-stroke fuel injection system. In an attempt to reduce emissions for the two-stroke engine, TPI allegedly extended the possibilities for performance, rider sensation and the delivery of dependable power right into the rider’s fingers.
