Kaitlyn Farrington s snowboarding career brought her to the extreme highs but also to devastating personal lows. After winning the gold medal in the women s halfpipe during the 2014 Olympics she was diagnosed with a congenital cervical stenosis, a spinal disease that ended her professional competitive career. Her story picks up in the beautiful, small mountain town of Whitefish, Montana. With the slower pace of life in Whitefish, she was able to focus on finding solace in the quiet places of this mountain valley and celebrating the shared values of protecting this town for future generations. Kaitlyn s story is one of success, disappointment, but most importantly perseverance in the face of impossible circumstances.

The Tough One 2021 witnessed a unique racing moment with FIM World Hard Enduro Champion Billy Bolt and David Knight MBE lined up for the trophy at the Nantmawr Quarry - United Kingdom. Charlie Frost was kind enough to wear our GoPro to get you this excellent racing content to enjoy. Unlike his normal 300 2T bike setup he had to borrow his brother’s 350 4T and that had an effect for sure. Charlie came in P6 in the end and this is his second lap into the race. Charlie’s Post race comment; “Unfortunately, I am without a Gas Gas at the moment due to unavailability of them so borrowed my brothers 350 4T for the Tough One- obviously not the desired choice of weapon for the event but better than nothing. It wasn’t the easiest of bikes to try and man handle around the course- with it being a 4 stroke it wanted to stall on the technical sections which made life hard for me, but I struggled on for a 6th place Pro class finish. Wasn’t my finest riding and felt capable of a higher position finishing but the bike held me back. Never the less it was a fun atmosphere and a great race thanks to Steve Ireland and the WOR Events team.” After 2h battle in and around the quarry Billy Bolt claimed the victory although he had to enter the race with a sore arm left from recent injury he had. Are you considering a ski or snowboard trip to Rusutsu, Japan? It is definitely a unique winter resort. Here is a list of quirks and perks that may help you decide. QUIRKS: 1) Rusutsu Resort Hotel is a crazy experience. A carousel, video games, mechanical dogs, antique cars... it is like no other ski or snowboard destination hotel. 2) Amusement Park. There is one on the slopes! 3) Layout. Rusutsu has an intriguing layout. The resort is spread out between Mount Isola and the East Mountain, which are right next to each other, and the West Mountain, which is quite a distance away. In fact, you need to take a chairlift or gondola across flat land to get between the two areas. PERKS: 1) Beginner and Intermediate Slopes. Rusutsu has a large number of beginner and intermediate slopes. They are groomed, wide, and long. Perfect for those who like to cruise. 2) Partnership with Steamboat, Colorado. Rusutsu and Steamboat have a partnership that allows pass holders of either resort to ski or snowboard at the other resort for free for a few days each season. 3) Age Demographics. Rusutsu seems to have a large number of older skiers. It was great to see how active they were and how much fun they were having. 4) Expert Slopes. Rusutsu has some great tree runs, but they are best when the snow is fresh! If you are headed to Niseko for a full week, it may make sense to go to Rustusu for part of the time for a completely different scene.
