Tennis Volley Technique - How To Volley Like A Pro Dealing with fast balls at the net in tennis is always a challenge, even the pros struggle sometimes. The most common error players make on their tennis volley is they swing too big with their arm and racket which causes them to be late and make contact on the side or even behind their body line. Reducing your swing is the easiest and quickest way to instantly improve your volleys. In this video, Top Tennis Training coaches Simon Konov (Santa) and Alex Slabinsky (The Elf) will show you how to volley like a pro at the net in tennis. This will help you massively in doubles matches when you need quick reactions and fast hands at the net. To reduce your backswing, a simple trick is to imagine you re catching a ball instead of hitting it when you volley. If you want to catch a ball, you wouldn t swing your arm back and then forward to reach the ball, you would simply place your hand out in front of your body and catch the ball. This same principle can be applied to hard volleys at the net, when time is limited. #tennis #volley #lesson

Tennis Backhand - One-Handed vs Two-Handed Backhand. Most tennis players, at some point, have questioned whether they should use a one-handed tennis backhand or a two-handed tennis backhand. In this video, Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov will analyze the major differences between both strokes and go over the pros and cons. Hopefully, after watching this video, you ll have a better understanding of which stroke you should stick to. If we look at some of the best backhands of all time, many have used a two-handed backhand, players such as Andre Agassi, Novak Djokovic, Marat Safin and David Nalbandian all played with a double hander, on the flip side of that, we have players such as Stan Wawrinka, Roger Federer, Tommy Robredo, Richard Gasquet and Gustavo Kuerten who all used a single-hander. In general, the two-handed backhand seems to be much more commonly used by players of all abilities including the pros, this is because of the extra stability you can have with two hands on the grip, as opposed to the one. Here are some of the major benefits of the two-handed tennis backhand: - The ability to use the top hand like a forehand - The ability to use the full rotation of the trunk muscles and open the hips during the contact zone - The added stability due to using two hands - Being able to use the pec muscles to support the contact zone - Being able to pivot around the front foot which aids recovery - Being able to use an open stance to greater effect Here are some of the major advantages of the one-handed backhand: - Greater range of motion throughout the swing because you re using only one hand - Ability to master the slice backhand - Easier to hit on the run - Can be looser with the swing Video timeline: 00:00 - Intro 00:32 - The best two-handers of all time 00:50 - The best one-handers of all time 01:28 - The major advantage of the two-hander 04:10 - Which hand dominates on two hands 05:45 - Chest muscles vs back muscles 06:45 - How to feel stable on the one-hander 07:14 - Differences in the stances and recovery 08:48 - Why it takes longer for one-handers to master their stroke 09:25 - The major advantages of the one-hander 11:00 - Recap

http://www.top-tennis-training.com/ How to handle heavy topspin and slice in tennis In this video coaches Simon Konov and Alex Slabinsky share some tips on how to handle topspin and slice shots in tennis When handling heavy, deep topspin balls you have two main options: 1. Take the ball early before it gets too high 2. Take a few steps back and let the ball drop down to a comfortable height When dealing with a slice, you want to make sure you stay low with your body and counter the slice with your own topspin on slice. Tennis Tactics - Where To Aim In Singles. Crosscourt vs down the line in tennis, when should you hit either one and why? When you play singles, tennis tactics and strategy should be the main priority for you if you want to have the best chance of winning that match. Deciding where to aim your shots is a big factor in building points and playing the percentages. Crosscourt - Hitting crosscourt in tennis gives you three main advantages, firstly you re hitting into more court so the margins become bigger, there is less chance you ll miss the stroke. Secondly, you re hitting over the lowest part of the net, which helps you out when you re tight on a big point for instance and every cm counts! Thirdly, the zone you need to recover in to is closer to you because of the dynamics of the tennis court. So a higher percentage and you need to run less! When you go down the line, the major advantage you gain is taking time away from your opponent, the ball has less court to travel into when you hit down the line so the balls gets to your opponent much quicker, reducing the amount of time your opponent has to read, react and respond to your shot.
