Young Blood is a film about young men who fight for money to survive while trying to come up in the underground fight world, in which everything is corrupt and no one is safe. It is clear that everyone in the film is looking out for themselves and some are even forced to fight for their families under the hands of the higher ups. This was a project that was filmed over a year ago, And now that I got a new comp and just started to learn after effects I figured I would cut it up and play. Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jesselaflairfanpage Cat pass, (King) Kong, Monkey vault or Saut de chat : involves diving forward over an obstacle so that the body becomes horizontal, pushing off with the hands and tucking the legs, such that the body is brought back to a vertical position, ready to land. If this or any of my other tutorials has helped you please help me continue to make them by going to, http://tinyurl.com/TutorialDonations and donating as little as .99 cents to allow me to make more Tuts for you. Thanks again guys. Ever little bit counts... Please hit LIKE and FAVORITE so others have the chance to see and use these videos to learn and grow (plus it also encourages me to make more). Please keep in mind there are many paths that you can take to reach the same destination. In these parkour and freerunning tutorials I will be breaking down the movement the way I know how. These are not the flashiest videos, and I do a lot of talking, but please take the time to listen and I am sure you will learn a lot. Step 1) Find a safe sutable object with a clear run up and clean or soft landing. Object should be about waist high. Step 2) Progressions to this movement are placing your hands on it and jumping your legs up to the side of your arms. Step 3) Next, you should be able to bring your legs between your arms and plant your feet on the object. Step 4) After you are able to do step 3 the next progression is planting your hands on the object and brining your legs over the obstacle on the outside of your arms and landing on the other side. Step 5) After step 4 you are ready to try and use your speed to pop up. While approaching the object dip your shoulders below the line of the obstacle and then rise up off of one foot and drive your back leg up while your hands plan onto the obstacle and then bring the knees up together. Step 6) At this point momentum should be driving you up and out and your body should be horizontal in a crouched position. Make sure to pull your brody through and up as you push the obstacle behind you using your arms, hands and finger muscles to further your height and distance and readjust you body position to land on your feet. Step 7) once your whole body is cleared be sure to land on the balls of your feet and bend your knees to absorb the impact. Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this movement and feel free to respond with a video of yours if you want to show me what you have learned or even have me pick a part what you are doing right or wrong. NYC we are coming for you! http://laceuptour.com
I Just realized this video from 6 years ago was set to private and I have no idea why... Tempest Freerunning received this email and had to act upon it. Well I know you guys are busy but life is about taking chances. I have learned that from my 14 yr old son, Malachi (aka..9 lives). Malachi is such an amazing boy. He is the oldest of 5 kids. We call him 9 lives because he has been hurt so many times, even faced death twice. He had pneumonia years ago that went undiagnosed until he was very sick. He cut his shin open to the bone skateboarding. He also had the skateboard flip up once and hit him under his groin, turning his area black. TMI maybe. Lol. After all of the illnesses and injuries he s had, he still went outside every afternoon and weekend to free run or do parkour. The worst was last Christmas. His thigh hurt at school and being that he is constantly moving, I did not think much of it. Two days later he was screaming in pain and could barely walk. He was mis-diagnosed for 7 days. He had 104 fever for over a week. As a mother it was terrifying that no one would help him. On day 8 he was admitted and they found he had staph in his hip joint. He could not walk. He was in excrutiating pain. He was on the brink of death. He was immediately rushed by ambulance to Childrens Hospital New Orleans. He went into emergency surgery within seconds of arriving. This was his first surgery and he was so scared. They cleaned the joint, and put him on I.v. antibiotics for weeks in the hospital. He then had a second surgery to put a picc line in through his arm into his heart. I had to administer my baby s I.v meds at home 3 times a day for a month. It took a long time for the infection to go down. We were told horror stories of one leg being shorter or less ability to use the leg. He did not walk for months. He missed school. Throughout the entire ordeal only once did he cry, or ask "why did this happen?" This was when I was carrying him at 13 yrs old to the shower. My son. My brave, sweet, strong son. Never did he act mad or embarrassed like I would have been. He was so courageous and sweet. I forgot to mention he is nearly 6 ft tall! So this is no average kid. He is well now. He limped for most of this last year. But, what I believe helped him heal was his love for freerunning. He from about 6 months post surgery has been outside every day and every weekend running up the sides of trees and flipping backwards, side flipping, jumping over fences and flipping over bushes, running up walls! He videos himself with his cheapy little cell phone and watches it back. He teaches himself by constantlyy watching your you tube videos! He now follows you on Instagram. It has almost been one year since his infection and he is doing so good. He gets sore, but he never let s anything stop him. I hear about Tempest constantly as it is all he talks about! He said you guys were in New Orleans right now and we are only 25 minutes away in Slidell, La. I just had to take the chance of writing you and hoping you can maybe give him a call or something just to encourage him and make this Christmas the one to remember with a happy memory... The email touched the hearts of the whole team and pro team members Jesse La Flair and Cory DeMeyers decided to take things to next level and really surprise 9 Lives with a Christmas he will never forget. This is the first video in a new series of videos that I will be filming, and uploading weekly. Posting in a new playlist folder on my page called "Parkour Spots". Seeing as how I just moved to LA and will be searching and exploring any and all possibilities for Parkour spot locations. Each video will include a map showing exact points of locations and video of me exploring the possibilities of these spots. What I will then do at the end of each month is upload a master video that will include my best movement from the spots that you have witnessed me discover and explore. But of coarse I will be saving the best footage and angles for the master edits. Thanks for watching and I would love if any one has any spots or locations you would like me to look into. These are not the flashiest videos, and I do a lot of talking, but please take the time to listen and I am sure you will learn a lot. Step 1) Know the physics of your movement (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3S9LFHETtL0) How your feet are going to grip the wall. Step 2) Find a location where you can gradually step up your jumping distance from the ground to a wall. Step 3) Understand that it is in fact you foot that should touch the wall before your hands. As the gap gets bigger so will the time between when you feet and then hands hit the wall. Step 4) Your hands should grab the wall in a at the knuckles. DON T try to get your whole hand on top. Step 5) Get creative have fun and practice. Try doing a Tic tac to Cat. Getting close to hitting my goal of 1 million followers on instagram by MAY 2018 ( http://instagram.com/jesselaflair ). Come check out the dope content and give me a follow please. Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jesselaflairfanpage How to do a Side Flip ( Side Flip Tutorial ) with Jesse La Flair and Shane Daniels ( http://www.youtube.com/ShaneDaniels009 ) from Team Tempest. This is an very easy and detailed side flip tutorial. PLEASE LIKE & SHARE Like everything we do we must find progressions in our movement so that we can learn these moves safely and the right way instead of just hucking it and getting hurt. Prerequisite) Start with a barrel roll. When dealing with any sort of flip we must first get comfortable with the way it makes our bodies feel. This is known as spatial awareness and will grow with us the more we move. Side flip with buddy bent over... Side flip from higher up (NOT TO HIGH) about hip high into soft area like water, sand, then maybe grass. (This should give you a little more time in the air to get around and spot the ground) The more you practice the move, even into water, sand or mats, the more you are conditioning the muscles needed, building confidence and muscle memory. INSTRUCTIONS TO DO A SIDEFLIP: 1st) The Approach... Two options here, you can do the webster style sideflip or the gather step into it. (Some styles are eisier for some then others) Know that your run in will bring you out so your job is to get height. 2nd) Run in and step in sideways with your back foot blocking first and then bring the front foot infront of it. You should be leaning back a bit so that your foward energy gets blocked into the ground sending you up after you compress into your jump push off of the ground as fast and strong as you can while extending your body from the tips of your toes all the way past your shoulder and through to your hand up at about a 45 degree angle. A fuller body extension will enable the possibility to create a faster rotation because a higher transfer of energy and get you to travel higher. 3rd) After you have traveled up to about your max height (rotation should be at chest or head height), you will then bring your arm down and scoop under yourself bringing your knees in tight. The faster you can bring your legs in the faster you will rotate also the tighter you get your body the faster you will be able to rotate (Note: A very common mistake is to bring the arm down to soon and even before you leave the ground. Make sure that you are up in the air before doing so...) During the rotation you head stay neutral (equally between your shoulders) and should not be pushed in to your shoulder. 4th) As you start to finish your rotation spot the ground begin to untuck. The timing here will depend on a lot of factors like height, speed of tuck and others. So just try to be aware of your location in space also known as Spatial awareness. I am certainly happy with the way the exploration and discovery of parkour spots in Venice turned out. I found a super dope secluded training spot right off of the main strip. As well as gave you guys directions to some of the more popular and crowded spots. The vibe in Venice beach is out of this world and certainly worth a visit for training and tourism. DetriMEMNTAL has been RECUT!!! After your feed back this shotgun shootout video incorporating stunt falls and a bit of Parkour was worked on corrected and now rereleased. Originally conceptualized by Jesse La Flair (Actor and Stunts) from http://www.youtube.com/LaFlairParkour and brought to life by Andrew Fraczak (Video) http://www.youtube.com/tbistone and Jason Minardi (Sound) http://www.youtube.com/MixingMusic The production of this project was decided upon on the spot and improvised in a few hours on Christmas night. After filming was complete, Andrew Fraczak professional compositor took the video and added the SFX. Once the special effects were added we knew we had something cool. But it wasn t until Jason Minardi a professional sound designer and producer signed on that this project reached its full potential. In 5 days this 3 part collaboration was completed! STORYLINE: We all face demons in are head, they whisper in the darkness and tell us to give up or do things that we are not proud of. Sometimes we take a stand and fight back but even then we are not always strong enough to defeat them. Thanks for watching please SHARE, LIKE, & FAVORITE!!!! Join me on my journey to 1 Million by May! http://www.instagram.com/jesselaflair PART 1: https://youtu.be/Z9OgpgqBOjM Key to Wall Control Pounce Tic Tac Horizontal Wall Run 270 Wall Run Part 2: https://youtu.be/UBUmNTxJuEE Cat Hang Cat Traverse Cat Leap Cat 180 PART 3: Wall Run 00:37 Front Support 04:22 Climb Up 05:15 Top Out Level 1 07:33 Top Out Level 2 07:33 Top Out Level 3 07:33 Wall Run • Approach the wall gradually with your last step being the most powerful. • You should be taking off of the ground about a leg distance away and placing your foot about hip high on the wall. • Quietly step up the wall pushing in and down evenly with you chest slightly back. • Push all the way through your toes and commit to grabbing the top of the wall. Common causes of why your foot may be slipping. • The wall is slippery or your shoes don’t have good grip • You are placing your foot too low on the wall • You are taking off too close to the wall • Your approach is too slow • Your chest is to far forward on take off Common causes of why you may be bouncing back too much. • Your not jumping off the ground hard enough • Your jumping too far away from the wall • Not pushing down into the wall hard enough • Your placing your foot to high on the wall Climb Up • Your hands should start shoulder distance apart. • One foot up by your hips leaving the other foot slightly lower. • Drop your bottom foot all the way down and then shoot your knee straight up toward your chest. • As your knee drives up push your foot that is on the wall down and inward to catapult your chest up. • As all this is happening throw the wall downward lifting your body up and through. • Try to shoot your chest past the front edge of the wall and into a comfortable front support. *If you leave your chest on the outside of the wall you will be wasting all of your energy trying to keep your body up. Top Out • Start in a relaxed Front Support with one toe up against the wall. • Start by pushing that toe into the wall and driving the other heal back and up as hard as you can. • As your hips begin to rise pop through your shoulders and begin to bend your knees. • As your knees start to come in remember to throw all the way through your fingers. • Let your chest rise up and replace your hands with your feet.
